The Basic Housing Foundation is on a mission to end the global housing shortage by providing ultra-low-cost, off-grid homes to individuals and families in need. Our goal is simple: to create a sustainable, self-sufficient housing solution that empowers people to get back on their feet—without the bureaucratic roadblocks that often prevent rapid and effective action. Each Basic House is designed to be built for under $2,000 and will include electricity, water, heating and cooling, and internet access—all without reliance on traditional utility grids. We will be using a drop shipping distribution model to deliver the houses to accelerate the end of the global  housing crisis.  

🌍 The Basic Housing Foundation has a global vision: to end homelessness by providing ultra-low-cost, off-grid homes to those most in need. An estimated 1.6 billion people worldwide live without adequate housing, and among them, around 150 million are chronically homeless. By building Basic Houses that serve small families for just $2,000 each, we would need roughly 30 to 50 million homes—totaling $60 to $100 billion—to shelter every chronically homeless person on Earth. While that sounds like a massive number, it’s entirely achievable. Americans spend over $100 billion per year on pets, and the global military budget exceeds $2 trillion. With just $10 per month from 500 million people, this entire effort could be funded in a single year.
